Carol Edwards is the Executive Producer of Alzheimer’s Disease: Facing the Facts. With long time colleague Glenn Orkin, she also co-produced, co-wrote, and co-edited this arresting and poignant documentary airing on PBS affiliates nationwide in 2009.
For 25 years, Carol Edwards has designed effective communication strategies, and crafted their components in print, video, and other media, for a variety of healthcare and education clients, and issue campaigns. The roots of Alzheimer’s Disease: Facing the Facts lie in two educational films she produced with Glenn, through the University of Pennsylvania, for the 29-site National Institute on Aging-funded Alzheimer’s Disease Center network.
Carol is also an “Alzheimer’s daughter.” She cared for her mother both at home, and later in a nursing facility, from her AD diagnosis in 2002 until her death from complications of the disease in December 2007. Alzheimer’s Disease: Facing the Facts is dedicated with love to Carol’s mother, Hetty Edwards.
